ABSTRACT
Objective: The Purpose Of This Study Was To Evaluate The Prevalence Of Supernumerary Teeth Among Egyptian Children With Oral Clefts.
Study Design: This Study Was Designed As An Observational (cross-sectional Study). A Group Of 43 Egyptian Children With Oral Clefts Were Recruited In The Study. The Frequency Of Supernumerary Teeth Was Assessed Using Clinical Examination And CBCT Radiographic Investigation.
Results: Among The Total Study Sample 7 Patients (16.3%) Had Supernumerary Teeth. Six Patients (14%) Had One Supernumerary Tooth And One Patient (2.3%) Had Two Supernumerary Teeth. All Supernumerary Teeth Were Detected At The Area Of Upper Incisors.
Conclusion: Patients Affected By An Oral Cleft Are Subjected For Higher Incidence Of Dental Anomalies Such As Supernumerary Teeth.
